            Abstract : 
The problem of rescheduling generators and shedding loads in an emergency state is formulated as a nonlinear optimization problem. The desired solution is a set of control actions which, when applied, removes all the constraint violations such as abnormal voltages and line overloads with a minimum of rescheduling and load shedding.
