Abstract :
The diagnostics of electric equipment is a basic method of maintenance for the long-term serviceability of electric power systems. Gas chromatography is a well known technique used in the analysis of the dissolved gases in oil-filled equipment. This paper describes the types of analysis involved in this gas chromatographic application, the international documents on the analysis of gases in insulating oil, the history of the development of an apparatus line, the system and operation of the automatic instrument, and alternative systems.
