Abstract :
A brief description of parallel processor design considerations and a complete description of an Inmos transputer-based multiprocessor system are given. The system can collect continuous-wave radar output at 2 Mbyte/s and perform over 2000 1024-point FFTs per second while simultaneously doing radar target acquisition, target tracking, and aim-point selection. The reasons for selecting the transputer and its performance are examined
