Abstract
In this paper, a new algorithm for minimizing a sum of the pth power of nonlinear functions is derived and illustrated. This algorithm requires neither derivative calculation nor linear search. The high efficiency of this algorithm is demonstrated by comparisons with other wellknown techniques using seven numerical examples.
