Generator Insulation Diagnostic Testing

Ontario Hydro\´s experience with diagnostic partial discharge tests on hydraulic generators over a period of five years shows that a reliable prediction of stator insulation condition can be made prior to physical examination. "Action limit values" have been established to this end.
