Abstract :
A new approach for and hardware realisation of timers is described. The timers are designed for use in distributed real-time systems to realise precise timing and ease of time handling by using alarm jobs. No synchronisation is needed, because the exact UTC is received via satellite from the global navigation and positioning system GPS
