Abstract :
Basic relations are given for transient sensitivity computation of piecewise linear (PWL) circuits modeled by ideal diodes. A method is presented for computer-aided formulation and solution of the PWL transient sensitivity analysis problem using the adjoint network approach. An iterative complementary pivot algorithm is used for solving the original network equations, while the solution of the adjoint network equations is obtained without iterating. In the original network simulation, the iterations of the algorithm have to be performed only for a small subset of the total simulation time instants
