Abstract :
This paper presents gain-bandwidth limits for matched small-signal amplifiers that use cascode-connected bipolar junction transistors (BJT´s) and shunt compensating admittances. The limits apply for conditions of flat, maximal broad-band gain and flat port reflections. The paper includes stability and sensitivity analyses, an amplifier synthesis procedure, and an illustrative design example.
