  • Abstract
Swift solutions to engineering problems recompense the investor in a modern math package for its cost and the time spent learning to use it. Anywhere from 700 to 3000 functions can be handled by a wealth of quality software packages adorned with two- and three-dimensional plotting capabilities. The author discusses the benefits of using such programs in engineering. A list is given of some of the leading symbolic and numerical math software packages. The list includes a brief description of each package.<>
