  • Abstract
The use of linear prograrming (LP) in power system reactive power control calculations is presented in this paper. Ihe method incorporates the usual reactive power control devices and is particularly successful in rescheduling tap-changing transfornmers. Solutions are constrained within limits set by busbar voltage levels and network reactive power flows. Results are given which indicate a high degree of reliability and versatility, with solution times which are suitable for real-time applications on large systems.
