Abstract
A method is proposed for assessing the effects of audible noise caused by transmission line corona on residents living near the line. The method employs a procedure favored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). It is based upon community noise impact studies of familiar sounds (i.e., traffic and aircraft noise), and is as yet unverified for corona noise.
