Abstract :
Through the real-model simulations, the polarization-dependent confinement losses in actual holey fibers are, for the first time, numerically demonstrated. Furthermore, it is confirmed that the interstitial holes caused by the packing of the capillaries play a role to significantly reduce the confinement losses.
