Abstract :
A simple spark gap is incorporated into a subnanosecond TEA N2 laser system for generating sequenced, dual-pulse output. The time interval between the two laser pulses can be varied from about 10 to over 100 ns. This makes the system very suitable for optical diagnostics of fast transient plasmas. It provides a cost-effective alternative to electrooptic-based systems
