Abstract :
This paper describes a method for representing parallel connected, multiterminal HVDC systems in a general-purpose transient stability program. The models for the dc converters, dc-terminal controller, and dc network are described in detail. Based on the models, equations and solution procedures for simulating dc faults and other disturbances are developed. The effectiveness of the solution algorithm is demonstrated on a 3-terminal and a 7-terminal system.
