Abstract :
Steady State equivalents are of importance for the study of the static characteristics of a large power system when either the computer facilities are limited or the solution time must be decreased. Several equivalents are examined and compared. Emphasis is placed on the REI (Radial Equivalent Independent) equivalencing technique and some practical considerations with regard to its implementation will be discussed.
