  • Abstract
    A compact microstrip dual-band bandpass filter using combined zeroth-order resonance mode of composite right/left-handed resonator (CRLHR) and right-handed (RH) open stubs loaded resonator (OSLR) is proposed. The CRLHR cell is composed of interdigital capacitor and three metallic vias, the OSLR consists of two identical open stubs loaded. The proposed filter, with a very compact size of 8.9 × 11.2 mm2, is centred at 3.5/5.8 GHz with the measured relative 3-dB bandwidth larger than 11% and 6%, respectively. Measurement results match well with simulation ones. Good properties of low in-band insertion loss, good out-band rejection, and compact size make it very suitable for practical applications (WiMAX/WLAN).
