The Economical Loading of Distribution Transformers

In the past, the annual cost to own method has been used to determine the economical loading zone for distribution transformers. This method is reviewed, and the sensitivity of the loading zone to the various variables is discussed. A method of relating the voltage drop in a distribution transformer and the secondary system to the selection of the most economical transformer is also discussed.
