Abstract :
One of the challenges of lean manufacturing is to achieve whole systems transformations for specific manufacturing businesses given their unique circumstances, and with their different processes, structures and rhythms. By using a whole systems approach, each organization can reach a solution for its unique circumstances. Some parts of the solution may well borrow tools from lean, other parts will borrow from elsewhere, and others may need new thinking and innovation. How they all come together into a particular pattern will be unique for each organization
