Power Factor and Load Characteristics for Thyristor Electrochemical Rectifiers

Operating power factor characteristics of thyristor rectifiers in electrochemical service are examined. Considering the actual operating points along a real load line shows the practicality of operating these converters at a very high power factor for a wide range of output loads, without extensive use of transformer taps.
