  • Abstract
An asymmetric microstrip-fed tri-band monopole antenna with a C-shaped ground stub loaded is investigated. Two strips and a crooked stub connected to the ground through a via-hole are use to obtain the frequency ranges of 2.4-2.52 GHz, 3.4-3.65 GHz, and 5.16-6.2 GHz, which is met the specifications of WLAN 2.4/5.2/5.8 GHz and WiMAX 3.5/5.5 GHz. Besides, the proposed antenna not only exhibits almost an omnidirectional radiation pattern in the H-plane and a figure-of-eight radiation pattern in the E-plane, but also provides stable gains. Furthermore, the size of the proposed antenna is only 20 × 14 × 1 mm3.
