Abstract :
The effect of the write-field gradient on recording resolution and transition width was investigated using a micromagnetic simulation. The ultrahigh write-field gradient, which is greater than 1000 Oe/nm, produced a very small transition width. The effect of write-field gradient on recording resolution and transition width decreased with decreasing the distribution of the anisotropy field.
