Abstract :
Numerical analysis predicts that the Stark effect will induce large blue shifts in three-step asymmetric quantum wells. These large blue shifts cannot be produced without a large net separation of electrons and holes at zero bias. Oscillator strength and envelope wave functions for electrons and holes are also discussed.
