Abstract
In the above footnote[1]{paper}, some reservations concerning the validity of a recently proposed positivity test when applied to the case of unbounded domains, are put forward. The purpose of this note is to detail a procedure to test positivity of a real polynomial in n real variables, where one or more of the variables approach infinity, using Newton diagrams. This complements the unbounded case of the positivity test. (1) D. H. Martin, IEEE Trans. Circuits Syst., vol. CAS-30, pp. 1-5, Jan. 1983.
