Abstract :
The microwave switch matrix (MSM) will be a vital component for satellite communications. Three-line directional couplers with a very good VSWR of less than 1.06 and a coupling coefficient of S12=10.8+or-0.2 dB are required for a 6*6 MSM. The Letter presents the design procedures and experimental results of a three-line directional coupler with a centre frequency of 1.8 GHz.
