Abstract :
Generation of a sequence of sinusoidal values using a second-order difference equation is examined. Excessive roundoff error accumulation is prevented by an error reset mechanism derived by Mitra, et al., which requires calculation of two integers whose ratio is the desired normalized sine frequency within a specified tolerance. Simple closed-form expressions suitable for microcomputer implementation are derived for these integers.
