Abstract :
In Free Space Optical Mobile Ad Hoc Networks, there are only limited literature works on routing methodologies and these routing techniques lack the consideration of QoS metrics. In order to overcome these issues, in this paper, we propose QoS based directionality routing in FSO MANETs. When the source wants to transmit the data packet to destination, directional routing technique is utilized for routes establishment. The routes are selected based on the QoS cost metric that includes the parameters such as delay and bandwidth. Thus, the routes with maximum bandwidth and minimum delay are chosen as best path for transmitting the data. The main advantage of this technique is that it minimizes the flooding caused during route discovery. By simulation results, we show that the proposed technique increases throughput, packet delivery ratio and decreases the delay and overhead.
