Abstract :
This letter proposes an entropy-based methodology to reduce large network traffic data sets obtained by measurements over real networks. The proposed off-line approach, based on the marginal utility concept, reveals interesting results when applied to real data captured over real networks: to show its applicability, results obtained with traffic traces from a popular network game, counter-strike, are presented
