Abstract :
The application of the finite-element technique to the calculation of electrostatic potentials and fields in axisymmetric containers being loaded with charged powders is illustrated. Charge accumulation during such processes can result in the onset of hazardous conditions. The electrostatic potential distributions due to some simple charge distributions are investigated, and the value of such an approach in industrial electrostatics is discussed.
