Abstract :
A novel electrical phase-locked loop architecture for optical clock recovery using an input mixer mixing down to the intermediate frequency is presented. Phase detectors of the phase-locked loop operate on an intermediate frequency. The architecture allows the use of the quadrature phase detection enabling automatic lock acquisition.
