Abstract :
3600 r/min motors are particularly susceptible to involvement in a certain category of system vibration problems. Properly designed and manufactured two-pole motors, when mounted on flexible supports, can exhibit excessive vibration as a result of resonance. The system may be complex and difficult to analyze. Many of the problems can be avoided. When problems do arise, they are often easily corrected when the proper approach is used.
