Abstract :
The calculation of magnetic losses in the rotor of a three-phase motor with concentrated windings is presented in this paper. The finite-element code able to handle rotor motion and all the related phenomena (motional eddy currents and minor loops) is outlined. Solid and laminated rotors are considered, and losses are computed under no-load and load conditions. Finally, some experimental validations on a test prototype are given.
