Abstract :
This article addresses one of the motor drive system components, the cable and it addresses its benefits and proper installation. Variable-frequency AC drives are recommended wherever speed variation is required in the range of 50-100%. Research conducted on the cable found that continuous, welded, and corrugated sheath cable with three ground wires minimized and redirected the common-mode current away from the motor. Successful installations require attention to the selection of cable, armor terminators, grounding techniques, and the mechanical limits applicable to the cable being installed
