Abstract
A linear time-invariant RC distributed network composed of a series conductive field shunted by a resistive-capacitive layer is considered. The circuit is described by a system of partial differential equations together with boundary and initial conditions. This initial-boundary-value problem is of the semi-state form in infinite dimensional space and it is shown to be well posed. Any discontinuities in initial data persist with an exponential decay rate determined by the dielectric layer.
