Abstract :
Global Navigation Satellite Systems - Reflectometry (GNSS-R) represents an innovative tool for remote sensing purposes. In fact, it can be seen as a bistatic radar system useful to monitor the sea surface. Furthermore, from measured Delay-Doppler Map (DDM) it is possible to obtain a radar image of the observed surface. However, the quality of the reconstructed image is strongly related to the delay-Doppler resolution of the receiver. In this paper we propose a technique, based on the 2D Truncated Singular Value Decomposition, which is shown to achieve a given spatial resolution with a coarser DDM.
