  • Abstract
This paper discusses the latest developments in broadband over power line (BPL), a technology that envisions using power lines to do double duty by delivering high-speed Internet access to customers´ homes. Widespread operation of Access BPL has raised interference concerns in the protection of licensed radio services. Nevertheless, the FCC has moved the technology one step closer to implementation by issuing a notice for proposed rule making (NPRM) in February 2004, a set of regulations authorizing the operation of BPL.
