Abstract :
A failure detection and isolation system, which detects and isolates failure by observing the nonzero occurrence of its error signals, was systematically and explicitly derived by the author (1989). In this paper, two developments are considered: 1) establish the nonzero threshold for the effect of plant system model uncertainty and output measurement noise; and 2) propose a powerful, general, yet easily implementable adaptive state feedback control scheme for failure accommodation
