Abstract :
The coefficient of pressure loss of the interlayer channels in the coil of the superconducting (SC) dipoles for the UNK has been measured. The conditions for heat exchange between the magnet coil and cooling helium have been determined from the results obtained. The effect of the height of the interlayer channels on the conditions of heat exchange between them has been considered. A computational analysis of the temperature mode has been made. These results have been compared with experimental data. It was found that reducing the interlayer channel height from 1 mm down to 0.5 mm increases the coefficient of pressure loss and decreases the consumption rate of the liquid helium passing through the channel. In this case the coefficient of heat transfer from the SC cable to helium is actually left unchanged because of a fairly large thermal resistance of the electric cable insulation
