Abstract
This paper is a contribution to the open boundary axisymmetric quasi-static magnetic field problems in the presence of eddy currents. A hybrid method is developed combining the finite-element method inside an inner region with a special boundary-element method for the outer region based on an analytical treatment. Spherical coordinates become appropriate due to the consideration of spherical surfaces separating the inner and outer regions.
