Abstract :
Fire alarm systems for health care facilities must be designed for early detection, accurate location annunciation, fire department notification, and control of the high voltage alternating current (HVAC) system, and elevators. The designer must keep in mind that the system is designed to initiate a planned response by the hospital staff and the fire brigade without disturbing patients unnecessarily. The fire must be placed under control quickly, because evacuation of seriously ill patients is not always possible.
