Abstract :
"High cost effectiveness on a life-cycle basis" became one of the primary goals for the new Headquarters Building for Hercules Incorporated. Implementing the goal required careful monitoring of designs and specifications. Presented are some of the innovative, as well as traditional, ideas used to design a building that is energy- efficient in lighting, heating, and air conditioning while not sacrificing the goals of an attractive work place that is adaptable to organizational changes and broad implementation of advanced office systems.
