Abstract :
An improved perfectly matched layer (PML) absorbing boundary condition based on symplectic integrator propagator is proposed to truncate microstrip line structures. Compared to many PML absorbing boundary conditions (ABCs) to model dielectric and metal layers, the improved PML ABC not only keeps the flexibility of the previous PML ABC but also can effectively truncate microstrip line structure. In order to illustrate the usefulness of the improved PML ABC, the time-domain discrete singular convolution method is applied to analyze a number of microstrip line examples.
