Abstract :
A window-based computer program called the autonomous mining research and development system (AMREDS) is described. AMREDS helps researchers to develop, test, and integrate sensor systems for computer-assisted mining equipment. The program reduces the normal time needed to develop and test a sensor system in a multicomputer network. With AMREDS, researchers can focus on developing innovative mining machine control systems while avoiding time-consuming computer interfacing problems. The uses of AMREDS in current and future applications are described
