Abstract :
The synthetic fuels industry is coming of age, with several demonstration plants operating and several commercial size plants in various stages of development. Aithough some of these facilities will be totally under the Occupational Safety and Health Act´s (OSHA´s) jurisdiction, others will be or have certain areas under the Mine Safety and Health Administration´s (MSHA) regulatory authority. MSHA´s jurisdiction and its regulations and guidelines are introduced.
