Abstract :
A number of cost-saving methods directly aimed at reducing costs in the overall electric design of a plant are explored. The areas are defined where the largest costs can be expected, and it is shown how and where to cut these costs by careful specification and selection of electrical distribution systems. Properly implemented, these methods can result in a cost-effective electrical installation with only minor reductions in quality of installation and without loss of reliability. Some examples of such cost-cutting approaches will serve to illustrate the possibilities.
