Abstract :
The boundary element method was used to model the shields in a shielded magnetoresistive head. The treatment and various numerical tests that were performed to test its accuracy are discussed. This shield model has been combined with an existing micromagnetic modeling program to produce a fairly complete model of a shielded magnetoresistive head. Results for this system are also presented
