Abstract
The increasing use of synchronous machines in high- barsepower constant-speed drives increases the need for precise calculation and measurement of their current and torque. A d-q axis model is developed which takesaccount of all. indutance harmonics of the-windings and allows relatively easy calculation of all torque, voltage, and curret t harmonics. It is sho wnItht all these harmonics can be associated with six times the electrical speed. A Method of measuring the relationship between air gap and shift torque is alsomust introduced, and this enables verification of torque calculationsadand also the meChanical parameters of the drive.
