Abstract :
Models of the cylindrical microstrip phased antenna arrays (MPAA) of rectangular radiators on the thin suspended anisotropic substrate are examined. Radiation and scattering characteristics of MPAA in the X-band are studied numerically in HFSS. Possibilities of a controlling of the scattering characteristics of "MPAA-cylinder" system by means of switching the states of its passive reciprocal feed network (FN) are shown. Methods of phase control of the total radar cross section (RCS) by means of switching of phase states of FN of completely mismatched MPAA or by means of the phase shifter in general feedline are considered. The greatest angular sector (±120°) RCS changes (3-25 dB) is observed when switching phase states of FN of completely matched MPAA when its processor realizes space-time addressing of the MPAA elements as in a scan mode. Use of one shifter in a load of the general feedline of MPAA controls RCS in less wide azimuthal angular sectors.
