Abstract :
Composite Ba-ferrite particles containing α-Fe were made by reducing Co-Ti-Sn substituted Ba-ferrite platelet particles in hydrogen gas. The σs increased monotonically from 55 to 114 emu/g with increasing reduction temperature. Magnetic easy direction of the particles inclined to the plane for the samples with σs larger than 62 emu/g. The α-Fe was considered to be introduced primarily in the S layer in the Ba-ferrite hexagonal structure
