Abstract :
A new, efficient system operations planning model simulates the coordinated use of Pacific Power and Light Company´s hydro electric and thermal resources. Optimization of this nonlinear problem is accbmplished through successive application of a linear network flow optimizer and a high speed thermal unit commitment algorithm.
