Abstract :
The main design principles of toroidal transformer-type inductive energy storage (TIS) for the power supply system of a high magnetic field tokamak are discussed. The authors present the design, the electromagnetic parameters, a stress analysis, and test results. This toroidal inductive energy storage was manufactured in 1988 and mounted at a branch of the Kurchatov Institute
